B2 bombers, the only birds capable of carrying the Massive Ordnance Penetrator, the only weapon that can destroy a place like the Fordow Nuclear Facility, move west. No decision yet, but… U.S. begins evacuation flights from Israel, and… more sites, more people across both countries are hit, each hit answered in kind while… carriers and refueling tankers pre-position. (Written before the bombing news).
There is no denying the trend. Escalation is currently winning over de-escalation. It is possible that the most experienced hands in statecraft and long arcs of geopolitical possibilities have been swept aside, un-hired and otherwise put to pasture in multiple countries, not only in the one country with the only bird capable of carrying the only weapon to shut down an underground nuclear facility. Of these matters ordinary citizens can only maka‘ala, remain vigilant with eyes wide open. Don’t arise too quickly to the bait of righteous fervor. And, we can tend to our own tendencies, desires, habits of escalation over de-escalation, destroying over building, shouting down favored over persistent persuasion, concluding before reflecting. After all, all leaders were once ordinary citizens. In big and small ways, all of our time will soon come. It is easy to start a war. Much more difficult to end a war.
