Horrific scenes unfold, reverberate, and tragically land unevenly over the many places, the many peoples, the distractions and denials, the rhetoric and too much infrastructure, the position of this singular horrific scene in the long list of tragedies and urgent needs there and there and there, through the dense fog of disaster exhaustion, overcoming numbness. Gratitude for those who have never not seen, never given up. For the possibility of there being children’s children’s children to reverse the tide, no peace should be abandoned.
