RFK moves to delegitimize and shut down vaccinations. Fired experts, volunteers, medical groups, local public health agencies, mothers, pharmacists are talking and working to provide vaccines nationwide, legitimizing and informing as they go. Today is the 3rd anniversary of the Dobbs decision, removing national protections, such as they were. Each year since, 140,000 women and girls have traveled for care, from states that outlaw to states that allow, about 80-90,000 more per year than before Dobbs. Shut down and let go, dedicated former staff work to link donors directly with grassroots aids efforts in multiple countries, bypassing the bans and disbanded structures.
What is the common good? The bodies politic cannot agree, or more accurately, are in fierce fights to define and realign. Fierce fights to a draw, with an advantage to those who merely want something, anything to stop. Something beyond massive protest and resistance stirs in quieter but as fierce response. The support, the means and ways, the lifting from one to another to continue to do that which would be stopped, by extraordinary people who are choosing to define this moment by their determined labor.
