Tennessee, Ohio, Louisianna, West Virginia, South Carolina and Mississippi are sending National Guard troops to D.C., supporting the President’s war on crime. Ten cities in their states have higher crime rates. Famine has been confirmed in Gaza by an independent international group. Famine is defined as a widespread scarcity of food. A state of famine means the general population is subject to what was previously individual or group cases of starvation. Starvation has been reported, especially among children. Israel has characterized conditions as “isolated”. “Alligator Alcatraz”, the detention center built deep in the wetlands known as the Everglades without permits, where prisoners have reported sweltering heat and bug infestations which tend to happen in the wetlands, has been ordered to be closed due to environmental impacts on the wetlands. Florida is expected to appeal. Texas makes it way closer to redistricting to ensure the election of more GOP congressionals. California makes it way closer to redistricting to ensure the election of more Dem congressionals.  South Korea and Japan, alarmed at the way the United States has stepped away or abandoned agreements with long-time allies, are considering what would have been believed unthinkable: stockpiling their own nuclear weapons for their own defense, assuming the U.S. will no longer come to their aid if they are attacked.

We are entering a new stage of upending, deadlock in which the parties push even further against each other in escalation without an exit plan, gross contradictions exposed and yet curiously compelling surges rather than extraction. Maka‘ala! Eyes wide open! Stay rooted in the one universe in which up is up, down is down. Share food with the hungry. Care for each other. Seek possibilities every day. Interrupt the Doom Scroll. Breathe, hydrate, strengthen core, s-t-r-e-t-c-h, rest when you can. More soon!
